Barcelona failed to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint Germain on the latest summer transfer market and recently revealed that they made an attempt to approach Lucas Moura from Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day.
Lucas Moura starred for Tottenham Hotspur last season. He scored 15 goals, including his hat-trick against Ajax Amsterdam to take The Lilywhites to the Champions League final. He has been a hit in Tottenham Hotspur since joining for 25 million pounds from Paris Saint Germain in January 2018.
Recently a Spanish outlet claim Barcelona targeted Lucas Moura after their proposed deal to re-sign Paris Saint Germain collapsed. It seems that the Spanish giants considering Lucas Moura as a perfect substitution for Neymar Jr.
Barcelona Couldn’t Afford Neymar
Barcelona had chased Neymar who left the La Liga giants to join Paris Saint Germain in Ligue 1. The forward himself was keen on a return. However, The Catalunya club couldn’t afford Paris Saint Germain’s asking price for Neymar as he’s still the most expensive player in the world.
