Based on the latest report, Manchester United is plotting a winter transfer window move for Tottenham Hotspur star, Christian Eriksen. His name came out recently after the player himself admits he desires a new challenge. Before Christian Eriksen, Manchester United has reportedly wanted to re-try their attempt on signing Borussia Dortmund's young star, Jadon Sancho.
The 27-year-old player wanted to quit Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window after admitting he desires a new challenge, but he failed to make an exit during the transfer window. Cristian Eriksen has been in and out of the Lilywhites side this season though he started and scored in last week’s north London derby.
Following his statement about his desire to leave the Spurs, there are several suitors that linked up to him. Manchester United and Real Madrid were widely known to show their interest in Christian Eriksen, but both of the clubs were unable to meet Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price which is around 70 million pounds.
Manchester United Needs Christian Eriksen To Bolst Their Midfield Creativity
With less than a year left on his contract with Tottenham Hotspur, the club wants to resolve his future in January. After what he said, it’s almost impossible for Tottenham Hotspur to make him stay with the club even if they made another offer. So the best things they could do is to sell Christian Eriksen in the upcoming transfer market, in January. The Spurs could cash in on Christian Eriksen to avoid the playmaker leaving on a free transfer next summer. But maybe they will faile to get anywhere near their 70 million pounds valuation given his contract situation.
At the same time, club suncity heard Manchester United lacked creativity in midfield as the club has won just one of their opening four games. And that problem could see the Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer turn to Christian Eriksen who has notched 50 Premier League assists over the past four seasons.
