John Stones, Manchester City’s defender is reported to suffer from another muscular injury after recently made his comeback with the team after he’s spending quite sometimes to heals. And because of the injury, he has been ruled out for up to five weeks. The report has been confirmed by Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola.
According to reports, the England center-back suffered the problem in training ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League opener against Shakhtar Donestk on Wednesday. Even though his physical condition is not that serious, the fact that they lost another defender is quite devastating for Manchester City and Pep Guardiola.
The fact is John Stones just returned to the Sky Blues team on Saturday after recovering from a previous muscular injury problem. Their miserable 3-2 against Norwich City was his first appearance in the Premier League since the opening day win at West Ham United. And following his current condition, John Stones will be ruled out from Manchester City squad for about four to six weeks.

John Stones’ absence will add to the defensive problems for Pep Guardiola because their other center-back, Aymeric Laporte also ruled out from the squad until January. Because of that condition, Manchester City leaves with just one recognized first-team center-back going into the Wednesday’s fixture against Shakhtar Donestk. They have the 18-year-old Eric Garcia or central midfielder Fernandinho in line to partner with Nicolas Otamend.
Aside from John Stones, Pep Guardiola also informed Phil Foden will not travel with the rest of his teammates to Ukraine due to illness. But his condition is not serious so he could be back in time for Saturday’s Premier League fixture at home against Watford.
