Liverpool reach their second Champions League final this season. Liverpool striker Sadio Mane believes his team is destined for champions. The Reds qualified for the top party after making a sensational comeback in the semifinals. The Red reversed the position after losing 0-3 at the Barcelona headquarters with a landslide victory 4-0 at Anfield.
Tottenham Hotspur will be the opponent of Liverpool in the final which will be held at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday (2/6/2019) morning. This will be a golden opportunity for Mane cs to make up for last season's failure.
At that time, Liverpool defeated defending champions Real Madrid 1-3 in the final held in Kiev. The match was marred by the injury of Mohamed Salah and a blunder by Liverpool keeper Loris Karius.
"I think, yes. This is a good sign, of course," Mane said after being asked whether the Liverpool squad felt they were destined to win the Champions League now.
"After the first leg of the match against Barcelona, no one thought we would qualify and we succeeded. So we have an opportunity and we will fight for it," he continued to mexbet malaysia.
"We were disappointed last season because we wanted to win, but at the same time we took the positive side and we [to the final] this year again," continued the Senegalese football star.
"So I think we will use our experience to win this year. We look forward to this great challenge."
Mane: Champions League is more important than gold shoes
Sadio Mane claimed he had never dreamed of winning the Golden Shoe title. His dream is to win the English League and Champions League titles.
This season is arguably Mane's best season with Liverpool. He managed to score 22 goals in the Premier League which made him the top scorer with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mohammed Salah.
Unfortunately the record of his goal was unable to bring the Reds to the Premier League title. After Liverpool only ranked second at odds with one point from Manchester City who won.
The Senegalese player claimed to be happy with the title of the English Premier League Golden Shoes he got. But he claimed he had never thought of achieving this. Mane revealed his main goal was to win the league and the Champions League.
"To be honest, when I was young I never thought of winning something like a Golden Shoe - but every day, I thought of winning the league and the Champions League," Mane told the Daily Star.
"They are my big target with a club. I like to win the Golden Boot and hope to score more goals than this season for the next few seasons."
"I am very happy to win the Golden Shoe. I always try to score as many goals as I can for the team; for me, that is the most important thing (helping the team)," he added.
Now after failing in the Premier League, Mane's only chance to win the title with Liverpool is in the Champions League. The Red will face Tottenham Hotspur on the top match on Sunday (02/06/2019) early morning of Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
