Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Manchester City. The first edition of the Champions League quarter-finals match which brought together two English clubs, Tottenham and Manchester City, went bitterly. But in the end, the party held on Wednesday (10/4) was won by Spurs.
Both teams drew in the first round. Manchester City were awarded a penalty when the match had been running for 11 minutes. Unfortunately, Sergio Aguero who was appointed as the executioner failed to carry out his duties properly.
The position then changed in the second half. Son Heung-Min managed to make Tottenham supporters who packed the new stadium cheered with delight in his goal in the 78th minute. The goal then led Mauricio Pochettino's side to victory at this inaugural meeting.
First round
Signs that the match will run fierce have been seen since the early minutes. The Citizens looked a little more dominant, but Tottenham managed to create the first opportunity through Dele Alli in the eighth minute with a shot that went wide.
The 11th minute, the referee must watch the replay through VAR to ascertain whether Danny Rose touched the ball in the Tottenham penalty box. The match leader then pointed to the penalty box and gave Rose a yellow card.
Sergio Aguero was appointed as the executioner. Unfortunately, the execution of the Argentine player was successfully read well by the host goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris. Position also held a 0-0 draw.
In the 24th minute, Harry Kane spread threats to Manchester City's defense. The England captain got a pass from Christian Eriksen and immediately fired horizontally towards the goal. But the aim is right at Ederson.

In fact, Tottenham managed to score. Precisely in the 78th minute, Son-Heung Min made the crowd at Spurs' brand new stadium cheering loudly after successfully converting bait from Chrstian Eriksen to a goal for Tottenham.
The pass from Eriksen had failed to receive properly and was almost out of the field. That made the City defense off guard and made escorting Son loose. The South Korean player did not find it difficult to break down Ederosn's goal. 1-0.
In a state of lag, Manchester City then launched a strike on the Tottenham defense. Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne were included to increase the attacking power of the Citizens. Unfortunately, the position did not change until the referee blew the long whistle the end of the game.
